Mandatory checks following any type of accident:
Was the seat belt renewed after an accident, e.g. frontal and/or oblique collision in which the impact absorbers were permanently deformed? or Was the entire seat belt renewed after an accident-related activation of the seat belt buckle tensioner?	No	Renew entire seat belt after checking, and if necessary replacing: Seat mountings on the body. Seatbelt mountings on the seat. seat rails. Seat structure, backrest structure and backrest adjustment for cracks and deformations. Retaining bracket of belt tensioner for twisting, SEE POSITION OF CHECK POINTS FOR FRONT SEAT WITH SEAT-INTEGRATED SEAT BELT SYSTEM (SGS) .

Was the correct unlocking and locking of the backrests checked?	No	Unlock and then lock backrest. Backrest must unlock and lock easily without any great physical effort. If not: Renew front seat.
Yes
Does the indicator light go out when the backrest is locked and remain off when the backrest is shaken?	No	Check microswitch of backrest lock and renew if necessary. Check electrical lines and repair if necessary. If fault persists: Renew front seat.

Was the contact surface of the reel mechanism checked for deformation?	No	Check contact surface of reel mechanism for deformation, SEE POSITION OF CHECK POINTS FOR FRONT SEAT WITH SEAT-INTEGRATED SEAT BELT SYSTEM (SGS) . The contact surface of the reel mechanism must be level! If visibly deformed: Renew front seat.

Was the backrest checked for twisting/deformation?	No	Check backrest for twisting/deformation, SEE POSITION OF CHECK POINTS FOR FRONT SEAT WITH SEAT-INTEGRATED SEAT BELT SYSTEM (SGS) . If twisted/deformed: Renew front seat.

Were the head restraint supports checked to confirm parallelism?	No	Check that the head restraint supports are parallel, SEE POSITION OF CHECK POINTS FOR FRONT SEAT WITH SEAT-INTEGRATED SEAT BELT SYSTEM (SGS) . If necessary, strip the head restraint and check that the headrest supports are parallel. If headrest supports are not parallel: Renew front seat.
Yes		Checks completed; the checked front seat exhibits no accident-related damage or the front seat has been renewed.

After a side impact that resulted in structural parts, e.g. door, side section, having to be renewed, were all the seat adjustment options of both front seats checked?	No	Check all seat adjustment options of both front seats. There must be no stiff movements, sticking or any other unusual functional problems or noises across the entire adjustment range of all the seat adjustment options. If so: Renew front seat(s).

Was the front seat renewed following a side impact in which the front seat exhibits clear signs of impact from structural parts, e.g. door, side section? IMPORTANT: Signs of impact on cover of activated side airbag are not considered to be "signs of impact from structural parts".	No	Renew front seat.
