41 34 060 Replacing Outer And Inner Tail Panel Sections Stripping-Down Operations

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Remove battery
Remove battery negative cable
Remove bumper trim
Remove bumper carrier
Remove center guide
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel
Remove lashing rail in luggage compartment on left and right
Remove luggage compartment storage compartment
Upper tail panel trim
Remove rear lid lock
Remove left luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Partially detach rear lid seal

Slacken nut (1).

Remove earth support point.

Unclip wiring harness (2) from retainers and lay towards front.

Slacken nut (1).

Remove earth support point.

Unclip wiring harness (2) from tail panel and lay towards front.

Release nuts (3) and lay control unit (4) towards front.

Release nuts (1) and screws (2).

Lay distribution box (3) towards front.
