51 11 156 Removing and installing front bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove REAR REFLECTOR IN FRONT

Not for M bumper panel:

PARTIALLY RELEASE FRONT WHEEL ARCH cover

Graphics are only an example (The graphics used are from X6 3, 0 i).

Single operations are described for the left side, the right side is the same as the left side.

Release screws (1).

Release screws (1) on wheel arch trim (2).

For M bumper panel:

Release additional screw (1) at bottom of wheel arch cover (2).

Installation note:

Make sure wheel arch cover (2) is in correct position.

Release screws (1).

Release screws (1).

For M bumper panel:

Release 3 screws (1) each on left and right.

Unclip bumper panel (1) from latch mechanism (2) towards the front with the aid of a 2nd person.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage bumper panel when pulling off.

Pull bumper panel slightly towards the front with aid of a 2nd person.

Disconnect plug connections for fog light in area (2) and for Park Distance Control in area (3).

If necessary, disconnect plug connection at left and right of bumper camera.

Remove bumper panel (1) towards the front with the aid of a 2nd person.
