51 49 000 Removing and installing/replacing panel for rear lid

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 317  , see 00 9 317 TRIM PANEL WEDGE .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove panel for rear window frame on left and right, see 51 49 002 Removing and installing/replacing (upper) panel for rear window frame .
• Remove luggage compartment lights on rear lid, see 63 31 080 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING (LEFT OR RIGHT) LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT (ON REAR LID) .
• Remove button for rear lid actuation on left and right, see 61 31 084 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SWITCH FOR AUTOMATIC REAR LID ACTUATION .

Fit special tool 00 9 317  on inside of cover (1) and lever out.

Release screws (2) and unclip panel.

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1 and 2).

Make sure all clips are installed in correct position.
