Necessary preliminary tasks
- LAYOUT OF COMMON RAIL SYSTEM
- Switch off ignition
- Remove INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD
- Cover intake ducts
IMPORTANT:
It is essential to adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when working on the fuel system.
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system
- Use only fluff-free cloths
- Remove all traces of dirt before removing pipes or individual components
- Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps
Recycling
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Release union nuts (1) on pressure line with special tool 13 5 020 .
Tightening torque 13 53 1AZ .
Disconnect pressure line (2).
Installation:
Observe installation position of rubber mount.
