63 21 180 Removing and installing/replacing left or right rear light
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION)

Necessary preliminary work:
- Partially remove luggage compartment wheel arch panel . See 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM or 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM
Release nuts (1, 3, 5), gripping the threaded bolt (2) with a suitable tool in so doing. Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ .
Remove rear light (6) in outward direction from rear light housing (4).
Installation note:
- Observe tightening sequence:
- Tighten nut (1)
- Tighten nut (3)
- Tighten nut (5)
- Ensure fitting of sealing washers on outer threaded bolts (2) between rear light (6) and rear light housing (4)
- Make sure SEALING FRAME FOR REAR LIGHT is correctly seated on rear light (6)
- Make sure gap (outer) is uniform all round between rear light (6) and side panel.
