63 12 871 Replacing ignition unit for right xenon headlight (with xenon bulb) (from 03/2007)

WARNING: Version with xenon headlights: Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore, before removing, disconnect all components from the voltage supply (lighting system and ignition off).
Work on the entire xenon lighting system (control unit, ignition unit with bulb) may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (EXTERIOR LIGHTS) .

IMPORTANT: Ignition unit and xenon bulb are viewed as a single component and must not be separated.

N54:

Release nuts (1) and screw (2).

Feed vacuum hoses (3) out of retaining clips (4).

Remove bracket with vacuum reservoirs (6) in upward direction and set down on expansion tank (5).

Installation note:

Make sure vacuum hoses (3) are correctly laid.

Unlock spring wire clips (1) in direction of arrow.

Remove cover (2) in upward direction from headlight (3).

Installation note:

Make sure cover (2) is correctly seated on headlight (3).

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unlock turning ring (2) in counterclockwise direction.

Detach ignition unit (3) towards rear from headlight (4).

Installation note:

Make sure ignition unit (3) is exactly seated in headlight (4).

Recommendation:

Check HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENT , correct if necessary.
