Procedure if AFGS was activated

Engine compartment lid hinges 

• Replace actuators. See ACTUATOR (VEHICLES UP TO 09/2011) or ACTUATOR (VEHICLES FROM 09/2011)
• CHECK CABLES AND CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE, REPLACE IF NECESSARY .
• Vehicles from 09/2011:

If hinges are OK, repair hinges with REPAIR KIT .

Engine compartment lid catch 

• Replace both engine compartment lid catches. See LEFT ACTIVE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK and RIGHT ACTIVE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK .
• Check the top sections of the catch and replace if necessary.
