Removal & Installation

Lift off shift lever cover and unfasten interlock cable from shift tower. Connect new interlock cable to old cable with wire or a cord.
Unfasten screws. See Fig 1 .
Disconnect plugs from gong and On-Board-Diagnosis.
Remove lower section of steering column trim. See STEERING COLUMN TRIM (LOWER SECTION) .
Unfasten interlock cable on steering lock and remove, pulling in new interlock cable at the same time. See Fig 2 .
To install, reverse removal procedure. After installation, check interlock function.
