51 13 425 Removing and installing/replacing trim on left or right rear light

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Removal: 

Removal of the trim on the rear light is described separately from installation.

NOTE: Do not damage positioning pins (2).

Detach trim "french fry" (1) on rear light with special tool 00 9 317 from rear light (3) and remove in direction of arrow.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Do not under any circumstances treat adhesive residue with scratching, grinding materials or any materials that may dissolve the paint or plastic.
Remove adhesive residue completely with spirit and larger residues with adhesive remover.

Installation 

Installation of the trim on the rear light is described separately from removal.

NOTE: The temperature of rear light, trim on rear light and doublesided adhesive tape must be at least 18°C.
Clean bonding surfaces with spirit and leave to dry (air drying time at least 1 minute).
After this, do not touch bonding surfaces any more.

Stick double-sided adhesive tape on trim of rear light (1).

Installation: 

Feed positioning pins (2) into associated mountings of rear light.

Fit trim (1) on rear light and press down evenly.
