Removal & Installation

  1. Release nut and remove control arm from axle support. See Figure.
  2. Tie control arm back with wire. This prevents ball joint form being damaged. Remove rubber mount with special tools (31 1 051/052) and (33 3 051/052/054/310). See Fig 1.
  3. Ensure rubber mount and control arm bore are free of grease. Draw in rubber mount from chamfered side of control arm bore. Protrusion (A) is 5.68-5.82 mm. See Fig 2.
  4. Install control arm, replace self-locking nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Check and adjust front wheel alignment. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES  under ADJUSTMENTS.
