Door Modules: E60, E61, E63, E64 Up To 09/2005:

Installation location 

The driver's/front-passenger door modules are secured to the inner door panel above the door handle.

1 Screws for removing door module (illustration shows E60 front-passenger door) 2
IMPORTANT: Do not undo the screws
The inner screws hold the housing together. This ensures that the pressure sensor is secured.

Construction 

The door module is a combination of the following:

There is a pressure sensor in the driver's and front-passenger door module. The pressure sensor allows the ASE to trigger the side airbag as early as possible. There are a total of 5 connectors on the door module (example of the driver's door).

Pin assignment 

PIN ASSIGNMENT FOR CONNECTOR X1128, 5-PIN

Pin Type Explanation
1 E/A byteflight to safety and gateway module (SGM)
2 V Power supply for ASE function in door module (ASE = Advanced Safety Electronics)
3 --- ---
4 A Power supply for driver-side airbag ignitor
5 A Earth connection for driver-side airbag ignitor
  A = Output
E/A = Input/output
V = Supply

PIN ASSIGNMENT FOR CONNECTOR X1129, 5-PIN

Pin Type Explanation
1 V Power supply, terminal 30 (central locking system, power windows, exterior mirrors, lighting)
2 M Earth, terminal 31 (power windows)
3 M Earth, terminal 31 (central locking system, exterior mirrors, lighting)
4 A Power supply for power window motor in driver's door
5 A Earth connection for power window motor in driver's door
  A = Output
M = Ground
V = Supply

14 E Signal for locking lock cylinder (Hall sensor) in driver's door
15 A Power supply for Hall sensors (power windows) in driver's door
16 A Earth for Hall sensors (lock cylinder) in driver's door
17 E Signal 1 from Hall sensor (power windows) in driver's door
18 E Signal 2 from Hall sensor (power windows) in driver's door
