Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2005 BMW 545i, 2005 BMW 530i, 2005 BMW 525i, 2004 BMW 545i, and 2004 BMW 530i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If not already removed, remove microfilter housing lower sections on left and right. If necessary, remove cover on spring strut dome on left and right by releasing expansion rivets (1) and removing cover (3). Take care not to damage retaining lug (2). See Fig 1 .
If necessary, remove tension strut panels by releasing expansion rivets on panel (2). Remove panel (1) in direction of arrow. See Fig 2 . Release screws (1). Remove tension strut (2). See Fig 3 . To install, tighten down self-tapping screws (2).
