64 52 523 Replacing A/C system compressor
Risk of injury!
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Follow safety instructions for HANDLING R 134A REFRIGERANT .
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Follow safety instructions for HANDLING REFRIGERANT OIL .
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
READ AND COMPLY WITH NOTES ON REPLACING COMPRESSOR .
Follow INSTRUCTIONS for opening and replacing parts in refrigerant circuit!
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:
REPLACE desiccant insert for heating and air conditioning system.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- DRAWING OFF REFRIGERANT FROM A/C SYSTEM is not included in the time value of this operation
- Replace COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT
- Remove left CHARGE-AIR DUCT
Release screw (1).
Release screws (1) and remove refrigerant lines.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm
Installation note:
Replace sealing rings.
Use special wedge tool 00 9 030 to mount sealing rings without damaging them.
Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque: 21 Nm
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque: 21 Nm
Release bolt (1) and lift out compressor (2).
Tightening torque: 21 Nm
Installation note:
Fitting sleeves (1) must not be damaged.
Replace damaged fitting sleeves.
After installation:
