18 40 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Right Exhaust Manifold (N62, N62TU)

Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove right control sensor . Refer to 11 78 533 REPLACING RIGHT OXYGEN CONTROL SENSOR (N62/N62TU) for removal instructions.
- Remove right monitor sensor . Refer to 11 78 543 REPLACING RIGHT OXYGEN MONITOR SENSOR (N62/N62TU) for removal instructions.
- Remove complete exhaust system . Go to 18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (N62TU) for removal instructions.
- Secure engine in installation position with special tool . Refer to 11 00 670 SECURING ENGINE IN INSTALLATION POSITION (N62, N62TU) for instructions.
- Lower front axle support . Refer to 31 11 506 LOWERING/RAISING FRONT AXLE CARRIER for instructions.
- Release lower universal joint of steering spindle . Refer to 32 31 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LOWER SECTION OF STEERING SPINDLE for instructions.
For purposes of clarity, nuts are shown on removed engine.
Release nuts on exhaust manifold from below.
Remove exhaust manifold towards bottom and pull out towards rear.
Installation:
Replace seals.
Seal beads faces the exhaust manifold.
Coat threads with copper paste.
Replace nuts.
Thread M6 - Tightening torque 10 Nm
Thread M7 - Tightening torque 15 Nm
Thread M8 - Tightening torque 23 Nm
