Wheel Control Joint Play: Preparation

  1. Position magnetic retainers (1) on housing cover of control arm (2). See Fig 2 . Make sure magnetic retainers are correctly seated in control arm.
  2. Fit measuring clip (1) on threaded stem (2) of joint and screw down with locating screw (3). See Fig 3 . Measuring clip must not contact control arm.
  3. Press evaluation electronics button. Device will perform a self-test. LEDs flash. Red LED illuminates permanently.
  4. Move sensor with slide upward until green LED illuminates. Gap (A) between sensor and magnetic retainer should be 5-7 mm. See Fig 4 . Secure slide with clamping screw (1).
  5. Press evaluation electronics button for about 2 seconds until green LED flashes. Device is now calibrated and ready for measuring. Go to FIRST CHECK  .
