Disc Pads: Installation

- New brake pads may only be installed if the brake disk thickness is greater than or equal to the minimum brake disk thickness. Observe minimum thickness of brake pads. Clean brake pads. Do not grease back of brake pad sleeve. Check dust sleeve (1) for damage and replace as necessary. Clean contact face (2) of brake piston and apply a thin coating of anti-squek compound. See Figure .
- Clean contact faces (1, 2) of brake pad hammer heads/brake caliper housing and coat with anti-squeak compound. See Figure . Clean contact face (3) of brake caliper and apply a thin coating of anti-squeak compound. See Figure . Clean brake caliper mounting bracket at hammer head guides and apply a thin coating of anti-squeak compound. See Figure . Check caliper guide screw threads. Replace all guide screws that are not in perfect condition. Reassemble caliper. See CALIPER ASSEMBLY .
