Brake Caliper: Reassembly

Coat cylinder bore, piston, dust sleeve and sealing ring with a light coat of brake cylinder paste.
Install sealing cover in rear annular groove of cylinder bore. See Fig 1 .
Install dust sleeve in front annular groove and press into annular groove over entire diameter. See Fig 2 . The area between the dust sleeve and the brake caliper housing must be kept dry. It must not come into contact with brake cylinder paste or brake fluid so as to ensure that the dust sleeve is perfectly seated.
Take up brake piston with an extension and socket and gently press onto dust sleeve. Apply compressor air into sleeve (maximum 3 bar). See Fig 3 . Coat dust sleeve and brake piston with brake fluid to facilitate installation of dust sleeve.
Only clean guide screws, do not grease. Check and replace if necessary. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install caliper. See CALIPER ASSEMBLY .
