52 17 020 Removing and Installing/Replacing Seat Frame On Left or Right Front Seat (Comfort)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front seat . See 52 17 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT)
Remove both rear panels on front seat backrest. See 52 17 205 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH REAR PANELS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (COMFORT)
Remove outer cover . See 52 14 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING OUTER COVER ON FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC)
E60 only: Remove actuating unit
Remove inner cover on front seat. See 52 17 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING INNER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT)
Remove adjustment unit for thigh support. See 52 17 023 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ADJUSTING UNIT FOR THIGH SUPPORT ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT
Remove backrest frame on front seat. See 52 17 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BACKREST FRAME ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT)
If necessary, remove drive unit for active seat. See 52 17 025 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING DRIVE FOR LEFT OR RIGHT ACTIVE SEAT (COMFORT)

Remove wiring harness (1) from seat frame (2).

Release rivets (1) on left and right, remove fastening strips (2) on left and right.

Release screws (3).

Tightening torque: 52 10 6AZ. See 52 10 FRONT SEATS

Remove seat frame.

Installation:

When replacing backrest or seat frame, break off centering hooks (1) from seat frame.

The new seat frame part contains all the drives.
