24 34 020 Replacing Sealing Sleeve For Transmission Housing (GA6HP26Z/6HP32Z)

IMPORTANT:

After completion of work, check transmission oil level . See 00 11 500 CHECKING/TOPPING UP FLUID LEVEL IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (GA6HP26Z/6HP32Z) .

Use only approved transmission fluid .

Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the automatic transmission!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove exhaust system (E60/61 only). See 18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (N62TU)
Remove exhaust system at manifold and lower (E60/61, N62 only). See 18 40 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD (N62, N62TU)
If necessary, remove heat shield. See 24 00 023 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (6HP26Z/6HP32Z)
Remove transmission cross-member (E60/61/90/91/92 only). See 22 32 050 REPLACING CROSS-MEMBER FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING
Remove transmission sump . See 24 11 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/SEALING OR REPLACING TRANSMISSION SUMP (GA6HP26Z/6HP32Z)

IMPORTANT: Support transmission with workshop hoist.

NOTE: E90/91/92 only

Release bolts (1).

Release screws (1) and remove exhaust system bracket.

Tightening torque 22

Unlock and disconnect plug (1) by turning.

Insert special tool 24 2 390 in sealing sleeve (1). See 24 2 390 COVERING CAP

Unlock sealing sleeve with slide (1).

NOTE: Note position of sealing sleeve.

Pull out sealing sleeve (1).

Installation:

Screw in sealing sleeve partially (lug in upper area). Turn until lug engages in groove of transmission. Slide in sealing sleeve.

Lug on sealing sleeve must not be damaged!
