Removal & Installation

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Fold grab handle mounting screw covers down, remove mounting screws and remove grab handle. Repeat for remaining grab handles. Lift out "AIR BAG" screw cover on each A-pillar trim. Remove screws and remove both A-pillar trims.
- Remove front and rear door scuff plates. Move front seats fully forward. Loosen door seal from both B-pillars. Unclip left lower B-pillar trim panel clips, pull lower B-pillar trim panel down and remove from vehicle. Repeat on remaining side. Remove seat belt lower anchor bolt from both front seat frames. Unclip upper B-pillar trim panel, pull trim panel downward and let trim panel hang on shoulder belt. Repeat for remaining side.
- Pry out and remove courtesy light from both C-pillar trim panels. Pull C-pillar trim panel upward to unclip, then inward and upward to remove. Repeat for remaining side. Unclip left and right rear seat cushion and lift out of vehicle. Remove sun visors and vanity lights. Remove map light assembly. Pull headliner upwards out of sheet metal tabs and pull toward right rear door. Remove headliner through right rear door.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Use Headliner Guide (51 4 000) to install rear of headliner. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
