WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 13 other vehicles, including the 2010 BMW 650i, 2009 BMW 650i, 2008 BMW 750i, 2008 BMW 750Li, and 2008 BMW 650i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Special tools required:
- 13 5 220
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit
- Switch off ignition
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER
- Remove right ignition coil cover
IMPORTANT:
Fuel in fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3-5 bar)!
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Remove dust cap on measuring valve of fuel rail.
Unscrew non-return valve (1) on special tool kit 13 5 220 .
Mount special tool kit 13 5 220 on fuel rail and tighten knurled nut until hand-tight.
Start engine.
Screw in non-return valve (1) until a pressure reading is indicated on the DIS Tester.
IMPORTANT:
Do not under any circumstances screw in the check valve up to the mechanical stop. This could damage the valve in the fuel rail.
Measuring fuel pressure:
- Connect pressure sensor to DIS Tester
- Start engine
- Select Measurement.
- Multimeter function appears
- Select Pressure test
- Read off fuel pressure
Test Pressure:
13 53 INJECTORS AND LINES, FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR N62 / N45 / N46Test pressure / nominal value bar ± 0.2 3.5 Switch off engine.
Assemble vehicle and check fuel system for leaks.
