Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 34 other vehicles, including the 2004 BMW M3, 2004 BMW 330xi, 2004 BMW 330i, 2004 BMW 330Ci, and 2004 BMW 325xi. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Mark brake lines for installation and detach. Seal connection bores with plugs.
  2. Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect. Release screw and feed out DSC unit towards top. See Fig 1.
  3. Release screws (1) and remove bracket (2) from hydraulic unit (3). See Fig 2.
  4. Release screws (1) and detach control module from hydraulic unit. See Fig 3.
  5. Installation is reverse of removal. Replace micro-encapsulated screws on control module and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Tighten all screws and brake lines to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. After completing work, carry out function check on DSC unit, refer to BMW Diagnosis Information System (DIS).
  8. Bleed brake system. See BASIC BLEEDING PROCEDURES .
