Removal & Installation

CAUTION: AIRBAG unit must be placed with padded cushion facing upward.

Move steering wheel to straight ahead position.
Remove AIRBAG unit. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
Mark steering wheel in relation to steering spindle. Release steering wheel to spindle bolt and remove steering wheel. See Fig 1 .
To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure wheels are in straight ahead position. Fit steering wheel. Markings on steering wheel and steering spindle must line up. See Fig 2 .
Retaining pin (1) must snap into place in recesses (2). See Fig 3 .
Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
