Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Remove driver-side air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE  . Ensure front wheels are in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel retaining bolt or nut. Mark steering wheel hub in relation to steering shaft for installation reference. Remove steering wheel.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Be sure steering wheel retaining pins snap into recesses. Tighten steering wheel retaining bolt or nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
