Removal & Installation
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 34 other vehicles, including the 2006 BMW M3, 2006 BMW 330Ci, 2006 BMW 325Ci, 2005 BMW M3, and 2005 BMW 330i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Raise and support front of vehicle.
- On M3, remove front underbody protection. See 51 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE FRONT BUMPER (FROM 10/01)
- On all models, release stabilizer link (1) on left and right of stabilizer bar (2). Grip with open-end wrench. See Figure.
- Release retaining bracket on left and right. Remove stabilizer. See Fig 1.
- To install, ensure rubber mount, retaining bracket and stabilizer bar are free of grease. Ensure rubber mount open end faces downward. See Fig 1.
- Wet retaining bracket with low-surface-tension water (mix one part soap to 20 parts water) and install. Replace self-locking nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Replace self-locking nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
