51 44 013 Removing and installing/replacing headlining (version with panorama glass roof)

Necessary preliminary tasks

Open slide/tilt sunroof lid at front
Remove SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS on left/right.
Remove ROOF SWITCH CLUSTER .
Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT FRONT (A-pillar) left/right.
Remove all handles . See 51 16 480 Removing and installing or replacing front grab handle or 51 16 450 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT/RIGHT GRAB HANDLE .
Remove TRIM PANELS FOR UPPER DOOR POST (B-pillar) on left and right.
Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR (C-pillar) left/right.
Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR (D-pillar) left/right.
Remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim . See 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM (WITH 3RD SEAT ROW) , 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM (WITH 3RD SEAT ROW) or Removing and installing/replacing left luggage compartment wheel arch trim on front passenger side.
Release screws (1).

Version with roller combination (dividing net):

Fold back cover (1) for dividing net mounting (2).

Release screws (3) and remove dividing net mount (2).

Installation note:

Observe location data on rear side of dividing net mounting (2).

Release expanding rivets (1).

Fold forward both rear seat backrests
Move both front seat backrests as far back as possible
Detach edge protection of front and rear doors in roof area

IMPORTANT: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:

Support headlining (1) at front.

Unclip headlining (1) at clips (2) in sunroof frame area in downward direction.

Installation note:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).

Detach tailgate edge protection in headlining area (1).

Detach clip (2) at headlining (1) from body headlining with fork lever.

Carefully tilt headlining (1) and feed out towards rear.

Installation note:

Clip (2) and metal clamps in the body headlining must not be damaged, replace if necessary.

Replacement

Remove left/right MIRROR LIGHT .
Remove left/right INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .

Version with roller combination (dividing net):

Cut out premarked cutout areas (1) for left/right dividing net mounts with a scalpel.

IMPORTANT: Ensure a clean cut so that the headliner material is not damaged on the inside.

Installation note:

Installation sequence:

Secure headlining with edge protection
Secure headlining at front to clamps
Snap headlining at rear into clip
Secure expanding rivets to headlining at front
Screw down grab handles at front on left/right
Screw down grab handles at rear on left/right
Screw down sun visors and counter supports
Add final details to vehicle
