63 12 870 Replacing ignition unit for left xenon headlight (with xenon bulb)

WARNING: Version with xenon headlights: Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore, before removing, disconnect all components from the power supply (lighting system and ignition off).
Work on the entire xenon lighting system (control unit, ignition unit with bulb) may only be carried out by specialist personnel.
Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (exterior lights  , see 63 99... Instructions for handling light bulbs (exterior lights) ).
IMPORTANT: Ignition unit and xenon bulb are viewed as a single component and must not be separated.

Turn cover (1) in direction of arrow and remove from headlight (2).

Installation: 

Make sure seal is correctly fitted on cover (1).

Fit cover (1) on headlight (2) so that marking (3) is at top.

Make sure cover (1) is correctly engaged on headlight (2).

Press in retaining bracket (1) for releasing retaining lug (2) in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug (3) in downward direction from ignition unit for xenon headlight (4).

Turn ignition unit for xenon headlight (4) in direction of arrow and remove from headlight (5).

Installation: 

Make sure ignition unit for xenon headlight (4) is correctly seated and engaged on headlight (5).

Unlock catch (1), expand bulb holder (2) in direction of arrow (A) on one side and remove in direction of arrow (B) from ignition unit for xenon headlight (3).

Installation: 

Make sure bulb holder (2) is correctly seated on ignition unit for xenon headlight (3).

Guides (4) of bulb holder (2) must be positioned in associated recesses of ignition unit for xenon headlight (3).
