51 43 201 Removing and installing/replacing trim for roof pillar at front (A-pillar), left or right

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Follow  safety instructions for working on cars with airbag systems, see 51 00... Safety instructions for working on cars with airbag systems .
IMPORTANT: Do not use any sharp-edged tools to remove trim (risk of damage to head airbag).

Unclip protective cap (1) with special tool 00 9 340  and remove.

Detach mucket (1) in area of trim (2).

Release screw (3).

Tightening torque 51 43 1AZ  , see 51 43 SIDE TRIM PANEL WITH ARMRESTS .

Detach trim (2) at clips (4).

Feed out trim (2) from instrument panel and remove.

Installation: 

Make sure trim (2) and mucket (1) are correctly seated.

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).

If necessary, lever out clips (1) remaining in bore and attach to trim (2).

Clip trim (2) with catch (3) into instrument panel.

Position trim (2) on associated bores of clips (1) and clip into place.
