41 12 535 Replacing Complete Luggage Compartment Floor Stripping-Down Operations (Tail Panel Removed)

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.
  • Remove exhaust system
  • Remove heat shield
  • Remove air supply system
  • Remove rear left and right wheel arch cover
  • Remove positive battery cable
  • Partially detach wiring harness and lay to one side

Release nuts for sealing flange connection (1).

Remove sealing flange connection with positive battery cables (2) and set aside.

Installation note: 

Make sure gasket is correctly installed. (watertightness).

Replace gasket if necessary.

Replace M5 nuts for sealing flange connection.

Protect positive battery cables against mechanical damage.
