34 52 516 Removing and installing/replacing DSC control unit

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove hydraulic control unit
Release screws (1) and remove holder (2).
Installation:
Tightening torque 34 51 4AZ . See 34 51 SLIP CONTROL SYSTEM (DSC) .
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage to the contacts when removing and installing the hydraulic control unit.
Release screws (1) and carefully detach control unit (2) towards top.
IMPORTANT:
Cleaning with compressed air, chemical solvents and sharp-edged objects is not permitted.
Do not touch pressure sensor contacts (2) with your fingers or clean the contacts.
Do not touch pressure sensor contacts (2) with your fingers or clean the contacts.
If necessary, clean sealing surface (1) with a plastic scraper or a fluff-free cloth.
IMPORTANT:
Do not touch valve coils (1) and pressure sensor contact springs (2) with your fingers, do not clean or readjust these components either.
Check gasket (3) for damage. If damaged, replace DSC control unit (4).
Installation:
Make sure screws are inserted evenly and DSC control unit rests on hydraulic control unit.
Replace screws.
Observe tightening sequence (1-4).
Tightening torque 34 51 1AZ . See 34 51 SLIP CONTROL SYSTEM (DSC) .
Replacement:
- Carry out programming/coding using BMW scan tool.
- Steering angle sensor adjustment . See 61 31 996 CARRYING OUT STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ADJUSTMENT .
- Mix-up check of brake lines
- Function check of hydraulic control unit
