33 11 091 Replacing drive flange on left or right of rear differential: Notes

NOTE: If a flange has drifted and is loose, it is necessary always to replace both flanges (left as well as right).

IMPORTANT: The drive flange is replaced only in conjunction with the circlip and shaft seal! See 00 11... CHECKING/TOPPING UP OIL LEVEL IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL (DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE CONTROL) and 00 11 259 CHANGING OIL IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL (DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE CONTROL) AND DISPOSING OF USED OIL .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove REAR DIFFERENTIAL

Drive out drive flange (1) with special tools 13 5 251 and 13 5 253.
