17 11 040 Removing and installing/replacing thermostat cartridge (N63)

Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Follow instructions for working on cooling system
- Drain coolant
- Remove fan cowl
Unlock and detach coolant hose (1).
Unscrew nuts.
Tightening torque 17 22 8AZ, see 17 22 ENGINE OIL COOLER LINES AND TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES
Remove thermostat cartridge (2).
Installation:
- Clean contact faces.
Add final details to vehicle.
