72 11 030 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right seat belt

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

WARNING: Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnic belt tensioners, see 72 Safety precautions and general information 

Improper handling can lead to triggering of the

pyrotechnic seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Switch off ignition.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque: 72 11 11AZ, see 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Remove seat belt (2).

Installation: 

Make sure tab of seat belt (2) is correctly installed between retaining lugs.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque: 72 11 19AZ, see 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Remove belt guide (2).

Unscrew bolt (3).

Tightening torque: 72 11 20AZ, see 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Remove belt (4).

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque: 72 11 14AZ, see 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Remove automatic reel (3).

Installation: 

Coding (2) of automatic reel must be seated in body opening.

Retaining screw (1) locates automatic reel in position.
