11 71 101 Removing and installing or replacing low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation radiator (M57T2-SCR)

WARNING: Risk of burning!

Only perform this repair work on an engine that has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary work: 

Release and remove intake pipe (1) between air filter housing and turbocharger.

Release clamp (2).

Tightening torque, see 11 71 3AZ in EXHAUST-GAS RECIRCULATION .

Detach coolant hoses (3) from EGR cooler.

Release screws (4) on EGR cooler and remove EGR cooler.

Tightening torque, see 11 71 1AZ in EXHAUST-GAS RECIRCULATION .

Installation note: 

Replace all gaskets.

Assemble engine.

Vent cooling system. See VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS

Check cooling system for watertightness. See 17 00 009 CHECKING COOLING SYSTEM FOR WATERTIGHTNESS .
