11 52 020 Removing and installing/replacing fan clutch (M57T2)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove fan cowl. See 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (M57T2) .
IMPORTANT:
Do not damage radiator fins.
The fan clutch is secured to the water pump with a left-hand thread.
The fan clutch is secured to the water pump with a left-hand thread.
To release fan impeller:
- Grip water pump at square drive.
- Detach fan impeller with special tool 11 5 040.
Installation:
Tightening torque, see 11 52 1AZ in FAN .
Installation:
When using special tool 11 5 040, 30 Nm on the torque wrench scale are equivalent to a tightening torque of 40 Nm.
Attach special tool, as illustrated, to torque wrench.
Release screws.
Detach fan impeller from fan clutch.
