11 31 052 Replacing both timing chains (M57T2-SCR)

Necessary preliminary work:

IMPORTANT: Protect alternator against engine oil.
Cover alternator with suitable auxiliary materials.

(Risk of damage).

Assemble charge air hoses without grease and dry.

Lock chain tensioner (1) at bottom with special tool 11 3 340.

Detach tensioning rail (3).

Detach guide rail (4).

Installation note:

Tightening torque see 13 52 2AZ in HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP DRIVE .

Assemble engine.
