51 71 ... Removing And Installing/Replacing Bottom Left Or Right Steering Gear Cover

IMPORTANT: Observe safety instructions  for raising the vehicle

Release bolts (1) for assembly underside protection at front.

Release screws (2) and expander rivets (4)

Remove cover (3).

Installation: 

Replace damaged expander rivets.

Make sure cover is correctly positioned.

IMPORTANT: Make sure all covers in wheel arch are correctly seated in relation to each other:
  • Rear cover (1) overlaps front cover (2)
  • Cover (4) overlaps rear cover (1)
  • Cover (3) overlaps covers (2, 4) and rear cover (1) in area (A)

Left side only:
