51 16 3.. Removing And Installing/Replacing Hinge For Upper GLOVEBOX Lid

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove glovebox  . See 51 16 360 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX .
• Remove upper glovebox lid  . See 51 16 371 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING UPPER GLOVEBOX LID .

Close glovebox lid.

Release tab washer (1) and remove pin (2).

Open glovebox lid.

Disconnect spring (3).

Release screw (4).

Feed out damping element (5).

Installation: 

Replace tab washer (1) and pin (2).

Release screws (1).

Take off holder (2).

Feed out hinge (3).

Installation: 

Spring (1) must not be damaged.

If necessary, pull out shaft (2) and replace faulty bushings (4).

Markings (3) on bushing (4) and hinge must line up.
