Power Steering Gear: Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace self-locking nuts. See Figure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Ensure ball pin and bore of tie rod are both free of grease. Replace self-locking nut. Grip at Torx socket if necessary. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Lug (1) of engine mounts must point to middle of vehicle. See Fig 1. The even component number is the right engine mount and the odd number is the left.
- Install front axle support. See FRONT - E65 article in SUSPENSION.
- Bleed power steering system. See BLEEDING POWER STEERING SYSTEM under LUBRICATION.
- Adjust front axle after assembly. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
