84 11 627 Removing and installing (replacing) transmit-receive unit

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead, refer to 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY
Remove and install left luggage compartment wheel arch trim refer to 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING LEFT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM

NOTE: Follow instructions for handling optical fibers. Refer to 61 00... NOTES ON HANDLING OPTICAL FIBERS .

Unlock plug connections (1) and (2) and disconnect.

Release screws (3) and remove transmit-receive unit (4).

Replacement:

Carry out programming/coding. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMING/CODING .
