61 31 056 Removing and installing/replacing shifters for SMG transmission

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Loosen screws (2).
NOTE:
Both shifters for SMG transmission (3) are connected to each other by wiring harness (4).
Detach both shifters for SMG transmission (3) towards front.
Feed wiring harness (4) out of steering column cover upper section (5) and remove both shifters for SMG transmission (3).
Installation:
Make sure wiring harness (4) is correctly routed under steering column cover upper section (5).
Make sure shifters for SMG transmission (3) are correctly seated.
