Initial Operation With Test Run Of Dynamic Drive

Vehicle undergoes strong rolling motions during the initial operation run. Keep wheel arches clear. Vehicle must stand on a level surface. No persons are permitted inside the vehicle or directly around the vehicle during initial operation. A safety distance must be preserved around the vehicle of 3.2 ft. (1 m) to persons, objects, walls etc. Avoid heavy loads. Do not carry out initial operation on a lifting platform. Failure to comply may result in personal injury and vehicle damage.
After all work on the dynamic drive and the steering system in which hydraulic lines have been opened, the steering system must be bled and initial operation of the dynamic drive carried out with DIS.
For performance of initial operation, the systems must be in the normal temperature range. Initial operation must not be carried out with an extremely hot or cold dynamic drive system.
- Check fluid level in tank for steering/dynamic drive hydraulics and top up to "MAX" with engine turned off.
- Start engine and run at idle for at least 1 minute.
- Turn steering wheel left and right twice to full lock and then move steering wheel to straight ahead position.
- Check fluid level with engine stopped. Top up to "MAX".
- Connect vehicle to DIS or MoDiC.
- Start engine and run at idle for at least 1 minute.
- Start initial operation in SERVICE FUNCTIONS (engine must be running). Comply with safety precautions. Wait for vehicle to come to a standstill, follow instructions in DIS.
- Check fluid level in tank (engine off), top up to "MAX".
- Repeat steps 1 - 8 again.
- Follow subsequent procedure as specified by DIS.
