51 41... Removing And Installing/Replacing Air Duct On Front Left Or Right Door Trim

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Air Duct: 

Remove air duct (1) from door trim (4) as follows:

  1. At front pull off in direction of arrow from air inlet trim (2).
  2. At rear pull off in direction of arrow from air outlet trim (3).

Air Inlet Trim: 

Release welded joint (1).

Lever air inlet trim (3) out of door trim (5) as follows:

Installation: 

Following parts of air inlet trim (4) must not be damaged:

  1. Guides.
  2. Lock.

Insert air inlet trim (4) in reverse order, refer to one work step previously.

Air inlet trim (4) is secured by screwing a metal nut onto plastic pin (3).

Tightening torque, refer to 51 41 7AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Air Outlet Trim: 

Release locks (1) and lever air outlet trim (2) out of door trim (4).

Installation: 

Make sure locks (1) and guides (3) are correctly seated.

Installation: 

Following parts of air outlet trim (6) must not be damaged:

  1. 1) Locks.
  2. 2) Guides.
  3. 4) Seal.
  4. 5) Seal.

Coding (3) must be correctly seated in air outlet trim (6).
