18 12 561 Replacing Rear Muffler (N73)

Special Tools Required:

00 2 210

WARNING: Scalding hazard! Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.

Unfasten screws.

Remove reinforcement plate.

Cutting line (7) between center muffler (2) and rear muffler (1).

Determine pipe length on new rear muffler.

Carry over dimensions to faulty rear muffler (1) and mark cutting line.

Cut tail pipe with special tool 00 2 210 at marked point.

Installation:

Deburr cutting line.

Connect new rear muffler with clamping sleeve.

Installation:

Align clamping sleeve so that:

Nuts point downwards.
Cutting line is in middle of clamping sleeve.
There is sufficient spacing to adjoining components.

Add final details to vehicle.

Check exhaust system for leaks.
