17 11 100 Removing And Installing/Replacing Coolant Expansion Tank (N73)

WARNING: Danger of scalding! Only carry out work on cooling system after engine has cooled down.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of drained coolant.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Drain coolant. Refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT (N73) .

Disconnect connector (1).

NOTE: Illustrations show air cleaner housing removed.

Unlock and disconnect coolant hoses (2) and (3).

Release screws (1).

Remove coolant tank (6) in direction of arrow.

Unlock and disconnect coolant hose (4) with tank (6) released.

Installation:

Make sure rubber grommet (5) is in correct installation position.

Adding Coolant:

Vent cooling system and check for leaks. Refer to 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR LEAKS (N73) .
