13 51 061 Removing And Installing/Replacing High-Pressure Pump For Cylinders 7 To 12 (73)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove manifold. Refer to 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD (N73) .

Recycling: 

Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached.

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Release lines (2).

Release lines (3).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 53 1AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release lines (4).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 53 2AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release lines (5).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 53 3AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Disconnect connector (1).

Unscrew screws (6).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 51 1AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Replace O-ring (1).

Remove bucket tappet (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

If necessary replace bucket tappet (1).

Installation: 

Secure lines (2) from bottom upwards with a suitable line wrench (1).

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
