13 51 060 Removing And Installing/Replacing High-Pressure Pump For Cylinders 1-6 (73)

WARNING: Disconnect battery negative terminal (risk of fire due to short-circuiting on removal). Refer to 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove manifold. Refer to 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD (N73) .

Recycling:

Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached.

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Detach line (2).

Detach line (3).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 53 1AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Detach line (4).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 53 2AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Detach line (5).

Tightening torque, refer 13 53 3AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Disconnect connector (1).

Release screws (6).

Tightening torque, refer to 13 51 1AZ in FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

NOTE: Illustration shows cylinders 7 to 12.

Replace O-ring (1).

Remove bucket tappet (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

If necessary: replace bucket tappet (1).

Installation:

Secure lines (2) from bottom upwards with a suitable line wrench (1).

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
