11 36 720 Removing And Installing/Replacing Both Solenoid Valves On Right Side (N73)

NOTE: (Cylinders 1 to 6)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

NOTE: Illustrations show N62.
NOTE: Solenoid valve (1) controls adjustment unit on inlet side.

Solenoid valve (2) controls adjustment unit on exhaust side.

Disconnect plug connection of solenoid valves (1) and (2).

Release screws and remove holder (3).

Pull out solenoid valves (1 and 2).

Installation: 

Check holder (3) for deformation; replace if necessary.

Installation: 

Clean sealing faces (1) on cylinder head.

Installation: 

Replace O-rings (1 and 2) on solenoid valve (3) and lubricate.

Apply a light coat of antiseize agent to O-rings.

Installation: 

Press in solenoid valves as far as they will go.

Make sure holders are in correct installation positions.

Install screw and tighten down.

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
