11 12 595 Checking A Valve Guide For Wear (N73)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

To measure tilt clearance, install a new valve so that end of valve stem is flush with valve guide.

Attach dial gauge and measure tilt clearance. See Fig 1.

NOTE: Max. permissible tilt clearance 0.5 mm  .

If the valve guide is outside the tolerance, the cylinder head must be replaced.

Install engine in reverse sequence to its removal.
